b-cube.ai is now a regulated crypto trading platform after securing VASP registration from the Italian regulator!

Dear BCUBEIANS,

As you all know, we had a roller coaster ride last year with regulatory uncertainty due to which we had to change our jurisdiction to continue our business normally. We got the company, b-cube.ai S.r.l (Limited Liability Company) registered in Italy on the 6th of February 2024. We immediately started the process of obtaining the digital signatures and getting everything in place for applying for VASP registration.

VASP means Virtual Asset Service Provider registration is mandatory for performing certain activities related to crypto which is as follows:

1. Services that are functional to the use, exchange, the storing of virtual currency and to their conversion from or to currencies having legal tender or to digital representations of value, including those exchangeable in other virtual currencies;
2. Issuance and offer of virtual currencies;
3. Transfer and settlement of virtual currencies;
4. Services that are functional to the use, acquisition, negotiation, or intermediation in the exchange of virtual currencies (eg execution, reception, the transmission of orders concerning virtual currencies on behalf of third parties, services for placement of virtual currencies, or consultancy services on virtual currencies );
5. Digital wallet services.

This was extremely important for our company due to the MiCA regulations that are kicking in in December 2024. If someone hasn't obtained a VASP and still operates in the crypto field then they can be prosecuted in the EU.

b-cube.ai believes in legal practices and follows the law strictly. We didn't take a second to decide on going ahead with the VASP registration.

We finally applied for VASP on the 20th of February 2024 and our application was clean with a good track record from the founders due to which the registration was granted on the 27th of February 2024.
